Apple’s Notify Me Feature Could Be a Game-Changer for Ticket Buyers

Apple’s new Notify Me feature in Safari is designed to reduce the amount of time users spend refreshing websites and waiting for updates. Powered by Apple Intelligence, the feature can monitor a webpage and alert users when something changes—whether that means a product is back in stock, an item’s price has dropped, or new information has been posted.

However, one important use case still appears to be missing: ticket sales.

As highlighted in a recent feature request from 9to5Mac, ticket buyers often have to repeatedly refresh websites while waiting for sales to open. Events may sell out within minutes, and ticket-sale times can sometimes be delayed by 20 or 30 minutes. That leaves users stuck watching a screen and manually refreshing the page until tickets finally become available.

A faster monitoring option could make Notify Me far more useful. Instead of checking only once an hour, Safari could offer short-term monitoring intervals of one minute—or even 15 seconds—for time-sensitive situations such as ticket releases.

Of course, Apple would need to set reasonable limits. Frequent automated requests could place unnecessary strain on websites, particularly if users left the feature running indefinitely. Apple could address that by restricting high-frequency monitoring to a short period, such as 30 minutes, and limiting how often the same website could use the feature.

This would give users a practical way to act quickly without turning Notify Me into a permanent automated-refresh tool. It could also make the feature more valuable for concert tickets, sports events, theater performances, travel deals, product launches, and limited-edition releases.

Notify Me already points toward a more convenient web experience. With a carefully managed high-frequency option, it could become an essential tool for anyone waiting for something important to go on sale.
