Remember those quirky clickwheel games on your old iPod? Titles like Tetris, Pac-Man, and Lost: The Video Game seemed lost forever—until a fan-led preservation project changed the game.

What Just Happened

Community hero “Olsro” launched the iPod Clickwheel Games Preservation Project. Starting in 2024, he collected all 54 clickwheel games—long removed from the iTunes Store but still playable from older libraries. He created a clever virtual machine setup that allowed contributors to transfer and authenticate their original game purchases—without ever mailing in their devices. The final missing title, Real Soccer 2009, was rescued just on September 7. Now, the full library works on compatible iPods indefinitely. AppleInsider
