The U.S. Mint has announced a new set of coins for its 2026 American Innovation Program, celebrating two icons that helped shape modern computing: Steve Jobs and the Cray-1 supercomputer.
Apple’s visionary co-founder, Steve Jobs, will be featured on one of the new $1 coins, honoring his profound influence on technology, design, and innovation. Alongside him, the Cray-1 — one of the world’s first supercomputers — will also be commemorated, representing the foundation of today’s high-performance computing.
These coins will serve as a reminder of how far technology has come — from the early days of Apple’s garage-built computers to the powerful devices we rely on today. For many of us in the Apple community, this is more than a collector’s item — it’s a symbol of creativity, risk-taking, and a belief in thinking differently.
At MacHQ, we’re proud to carry that same spirit forward every day — helping users keep their Apple devices running strong, secure, and up to date.
