Apple has officially added one of its most iconic — and controversial — computers to its vintage products list: the 2013 “Trash Can” Mac Pro.

Originally released with high hopes and radical design choices, the cylindrical Mac Pro marked a bold departure from traditional tower form factors. Now, more than a decade later, it joins the ranks of Apple’s vintage hardware, meaning parts and support are becoming harder to find… unless you know where to look.

💡 Why It Matters:

Nicknamed the “Trash Can” for its sleek, all-black cylindrical design, the 2013 Mac Pro was a powerhouse when it launched — aimed at creative pros with dual GPUs, flash storage, and a futuristic look. But its compact design made future upgrades nearly impossible, and it eventually fell behind more modular options.

Still, many of these machines are still running strong, especially in video, audio, and graphics production spaces. If you're using one (or find one in the wild), it might still have value — with the right care.
